I devised Sir Sidney McSprocket originally for a series sponsored by the Royal Commission for the Exhibition 1851, an organisation who promote engineering.  He’s helped explain a number of engineering topics from Everyday Items to Inspiring Inventions.

A steampunk style Victorian gentleman-inventor from Edinburgh, Sir Sidney is a little too clumsy and accident prone to see his own inventions flourish.  He’s insatiably curious about how things work however, and is assisted with his computer; or rather his Patented Future Scrutineer.
